What the role is:
The Strategy, International & Research (SIR) Directorate oversees and drives MSF’s strategic planning, transformation, international engagement, as well as research and analytics efforts to achieve MSF’s strategic outcomes. As part of the Transformation Division in SIR, you will be involved in a cross-functional team to drive MSF’s data strategy, formulate data governance policies/processes, and build data capabilities within MSF. Reporting to the Senior Assistant Director (Data Governance Office) of the Transformation Division within SIR, you will be part of a high-performing team committed to driving data transformation within MSF and the social service sector.
What you will be working on:
Join our team supporting the Chief Data Officer in developing and implementing MSF's Data Strategy. This role focuses on transforming MSF's data management practices across people, culture, policies, processes, and technology. You will collaborate with various MSF Divisions to develop authoritative sources of integrated data for exploitation projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Drive the development and implementation of MSF's data strategy, ensuring effective management throughout the data lifecycle and alignment with organisational objectives.
- Establish and maintain robust data governance frameworks, including policies and procedures that align with Whole-of-Government requirements.
- Coordinate data sharing initiatives both internally and with external partners, while facilitating the resolution of data-related issues across the organisation.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators for data governance and capability development, including developing dashboards for senior management to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Lead the identification and classification of data archetypes across departments, developing and implementing necessary competency frameworks to support them.
- Champion good data governance practices through effective change management, helping to build a data-driven culture within MSF.
What we are looking for:
- At least 2 years of working experience, preferably in data management, data governance, or related fields.
- Familiarity with IM8, data protection, and governance principles and processes would be advantageous.
- Experience in data analytics.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively foster a culture of data stewardship and collaboration.
