About the Role

The Corporate Communications (CC) division at A*STAR in a constantly shifting and crowded media landscape, maintaining its visibility in a crowded media landscape. We communicate how our discoveries translate into meaningful outcomes for the public, industry, and scientific community through a dynamic, multi-channel approach.

We seek a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to help devise and implement integrated communication strategies for ASTAR's research entities. The role involves forging robust partnerships between corporate communications and A*STAR's research community to drive impactful initiatives aligned with our mission of fostering economic growth and enriching lives in Singapore. You will be expected to engage with the media to improve their understanding how A*STAR's innovations contribute to the economy and address national priorities.

The ideal candidate for this position possesses the qualities to navigate and build relationships within large and complex organisations like A*STAR, strong writing skills, instinct to uncover interesting stories and tell them in a relatable manner, sharp critical thinking, a proactive approach, adaptability to thrive in a dynamic environment, and a knack for problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

· Build strong relationships with A*STAR research entities to uncover impactful stories

· Craft and pitch stories to mainstream and trade media

· Write/edit publicity materials for various platforms

· Drive and coordinate corporate communications initiatives across A*STAR departments and with external stakeholders including media and ecosystem partners, to ensure alignment and impact.

· Work on integrated publicity strategies for key campaigns in research, innovation and enterprise

· Provide strategic counsel on all-things corporate communications, including branding, media and social media, VIP visits and engagement

This role reports directly to the Senior Assistant Director, Corporate Communications.

Requirements

· At least 4 to 6 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, digital content creation or journalism

· Demonstrated understanding of the multi-channel media landscape and a track record of successful media engagement and pitching

· Excellent communicator with strong writing and presentation skillsets, as well as people engagement skills

· Familiarity in developing content will be a plus

· Organised, meticulous, and experienced in managing projects, meeting deadlines, and juggling multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment

· Self-motivated, curious, resourceful and a good team player
