[What the role is]
We are looking for a self-driven and experienced Consumer Research Specialist to independently lead end-to-end applied research projects that will inform marketing strategies and optimise user experience across WSG’s career services. In this dynamic role, you will lead the entire research process – from problem framing and methodology design to fieldwork, data analysis, and presenting actionable insights. Your ability to distil complex research findings into clear, impactful recommendations will be key, especially when communicating to stakeholders who may not be familiar with research terminology.

Key Skill Areas & Competencies
1) Applied Research Design & Methodology
Expertise in selecting and tailoring research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative) to align with strategic goals and user experience needs.
Ability to frame research problems clearly and translate them into robust research designs.
Skilled in developing research instruments such as surveys, questionnaires, and discussion guides.
2) Data Collection & Fieldwork Management
Proficient in leading primary research methods including online surveys, in-depth interviews, and focus group discussions.
Strong project management skills to coordinate fieldwork logistics and ensure data integrity.
Experience managing multiple research projects independently with minimal supervision.
3) Data Analysis & Insight Synthesis
Analytical acumen to synthesise and interpret qualitative and quantitative data.
Proficiency in Excel for data filtering, cross-tabulation and statistical analysis.
Ability to uncover actionable insights and patterns that inform business decisions and improve user journeys.
4) Insight Translation & Communication
Excellent storytelling and communication skills to deliver complex insights in clear, actionable ways.
Skilled in developing visually compelling presentations using PowerPoint.
Comfortable presenting to diverse stakeholders, including senior management and non-technical audiences.
5) Cross-functional Collaboration & Influence
Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate across marketing, service design, and operations teams.
Ability to embed user-centric thinking into strategic initiatives and decision-making processes.
Demonstrated intellectual curiosity, initiative, and stakeholder management capabilities.
[What we are looking for]
Qualifications & Experience:
3–5+ years of relevant experience in user research or consumer insights, ideally in an applied, end-to-end research role
Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple research projects
Well-versed with market research methods, both qualitative and quantitative
Excellent command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate complex insights clearly
Passion for public service and improving user-centric outcomes through evidence-based strategies
