Job description

Purpose :

This is a key role in helping Aravest strengthen relationships with its investors and contribute to its capital raising objectives.

This role will support fundraising and investor relations activities, primarily focusing on engaging with institutional investors, including Japanese investors. It also involves assisting in the preparation of investor materials, coordinating communications and reports, and providing support in fund structuring and investor meetings.

Responsibilities:

  1. Support fundraising activities, liaising with institutional investors, including pensions, family offices, and private banks.
  2. Assist in preparing and delivering investor reports, portfolio updates, and presentations.
  3. Build and maintain relationships with Japanese investors, ensuring effective communication and addressing their specific needs.
  4. Support the structuring and negotiation of investment products and fund documents.
  5. Help coordinate investor meetings, calls, and events, both in Japan and internationally.
  6. Assist in identifying new fundraising opportunities and markets, specifically targeting Japanese investors.
  7. Contribute to the monitoring and reporting of fund performance, ensuring alignment with investment strategies and compliance requirements.
  8. Collaborate with senior members of the firm in day-to-day operations and client interactions.
  9. Coordinate and maintain effective communication with the Japanese headquarters of shareholders, ensuring alignment on investment strategies, performance updates, and any corporate developments.
  10. Serve as a liaison between the Aravest team and the Japanese shareholder base, facilitating smooth communication and ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
  11. Assist in organizing regular meetings and calls with Japanese shareholders to provide updates, discuss strategies, and address any concerns or feedback.
  12. Ensure that shareholder communications are tailored to the Japanese market, including adherence to local business practices and cultural nuances in the communication style.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree is advantageous).
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in investor relations, capital markets, or a similar field (experience in real estate or private equity is an advantage).
  • Fluency in Japanese and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with Japanese investors and stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, metrics, and reporting.
  • Ability to prepare and present investor-facing materials, such as reports and presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), with the ability to analyze data and create reports.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships and collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of the real estate investment market, including investor preferences and regulatory environment.
  • Relevant experience in real estate or alternative investments (such as private equity or co-investments).
  • Familiarity with investor reporting processes and preparing for investor meetings.
  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
