Job description

  • Alumni Giving
    • Identify segments of alumni for gift opportunities and gift cultivation, develop strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni donors to encourage future giving.
    • Drive and coordinate giving campaigns reaching out to the graduating class through digital marketing, events and collaboration with other units to promote the case for support. Must have the ability to initiate the campaign and carry it to completion and be able to handle many details in a well-organised and focused manner.
    • Analyse giving trends for target segments. Work strategically on personal solicitation through active identification, discovery and acquisition of new alumni donors. Support gift renewals and upgrades for the donor segment.
    • Work with the Alumni Philanthropy Council and other alumni volunteers to make meaningful connections with prospective donors for the institution.
    • Plan and manage donor recognition initiatives and events.
  • Annual Giving
    • Develop and execute annual giving strategies and campaigns.
    • Cultivate and steward relationships with individual donors.
    • Coordinate direct mail and email solicitation efforts.
    • Analyze donor data to identify trends and opportunities.
    • Monitor online giving platforms and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with marketing and communications team to enhance donor messaging.
    • Manage the annual fund calendar to ensure timely and effective outreach.
  • University-Wide Fundraising Campaigns
    • Craft, drive, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in key university-wide fundraising projects such as SMOO Challenge.
    • Support social media marketing and communication plans and provide content strategies in line with overall University giving messages.
    • Engage with volunteers to support fundraising initiatives.
  • Student Philanthropy
    • Work closely with student leaders from different clubs and student bodies to create awareness of supporting their university.
    • Identify and work on platforms to instill a greater appreciation for the philanthropic spirit, tradition, and significance throughout the student community to build a wider and more knowledgeable base of supporters for the future.
    • Oversee the student helpers recruited to support fundraising campaigns to ensure that they are purposefully engaged and nurtured as advocates for future giving.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree with at least 5 years of working experience.
  • Motivated to contribute towards community-building and philanthropy.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with different stakeholders, from students, professors and external agencies.
  • Outgoing, and enjoy meeting a wide range of people
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Flexible self-starter, mature and able to work independently, at the same time, an effective team-player.
  • Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for a diverse number of projects, prioritizing and completing them in a timely manner with limited supervision.
  • Good CRM knowledge is required.
  • Experience in events management, relationship-building roles, community and volunteer management will be useful.
  • Knowledge of existing and emerging social media platforms and proven experience with social media marketing and fundraising, or digital expertise in marketing is advantageous.
