We are seeking an experienced and passionate SEM Manager to spearhead our paid search strategy and execution specifically for our Western markets (e.g., North America, Europe, Australia). This role is critical to driving user acquisition, increasing conversions, and maximizing ROI in highly competitive travel landscapes. You will be responsible for defining, implementing, and optimizing large-scale SEM campaigns, ensuring our offerings reach the right audience at the right time.

What you’ll do (Main Accountabilities)

  • Strategy & Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive paid search strategies for Western markets, aligning with overall business objectives, growth targets, and market nuances. This includes keyword strategy, bidding approaches, ad copy development, and landing page optimization.

  • Campaign Management: Hands-on management and optimization of large-scale, complex SEM campaigns across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and other relevant search platforms.

  • Budget Management: Own and manage significant SEM budgets, ensuring optimal allocation and efficient spending to hit performance targets (ROI, ROAS, CPA, CVR).

  • Performance Analysis & Reporting: Conduct in-depth analysis of campaign performance, identify trends, uncover insights, and provide actionable recommendations. Prepare regular reports for stakeholders, clearly communicating results, challenges, and opportunities.

  • Keyword Research & Expansion: Continuously identify new keyword opportunities, long-tail variations, and negative keywords to expand reach and improve targeting effectiveness.

  • Ad Copy & Creative Optimization: Develop, A/B test, and iterate on compelling ad copy, extensions, and potentially dynamic search ads to improve CTR and conversion rates.

  • Landing Page Optimization (LPO): Collaborate with Product and UX teams to ensure landing pages are highly relevant, user-friendly, and optimized for conversion. Provide data-backed recommendations for improvements.

  • Competitor Analysis: Monitor competitor SEM activities, identify their strategies, and adapt our tactics to maintain a competitive edge.

  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of industry trends, search engine algorithm changes, new ad formats, and emerging technologies in the Western digital marketing landscape.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with SEO, Content, Product, Data Analytics, and Regional Marketing teams to ensure integrated strategies and shared insights.

  • Forecasting & Modeling: Develop accurate forecasts for traffic, spend, and conversion metrics for assigned markets.

  • Localisation: Ensure campaigns are culturally relevant and optimized for specific sub-regions and languages within Western markets.

What you’ll need (Capabilities)

  • 5+ years of dedicated experience in Search Engine Marketing (SEM)/Paid Search, with a significant focus on performance marketing and demonstrable results.

  • Proven track record of managing large-scale SEM budgets and complex campaigns for e-commerce, ideally within the travel or OTA sector.

  • Experience setting up and optimizing multi market/multi geo SEM accounts

  • Deep expertise in Google Ads and Microsoft Ads platforms, including Search, Display, Shopping, and App Campaigns. Experience with other platforms (e.g., Apple Search Ads) a plus.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, identify patterns, and draw actionable conclusions. Proficient in using Google Analytics, Google Ads, and other attribution/reporting tools.

  • Proficiency in SQL for data extraction, analysis, and dashboard creation (e.g., BigQuery). Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker Studio) is highly desirable.

  • Solid understanding of A/B testing methodologies, statistical significance, and incrementality testing.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex SEM concepts and performance insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on ROI and meeting ambitious growth targets.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Statistics, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

  • Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in additional Western European languages (e.g., French, German, Spanish, Italian) is a strong advantage.

  • Experience with automated bidding strategies and machine learning in SEM.

  • Familiarity with travel industry-specific SEM challenges and opportunities.

  • Experience in a fast-paced, global organization.
