Nestl is seeking a Manager - Scientific Research to lead food safety research aligned with global strategies. This role involves managing research projects, ensuring lab compliance with safety protocols, and validating methods based on standards. The ideal candidate has a PhD in Chemistry or related fields, with 2+ years of experience in food research and lab management.
The Manager - Scientific Research is responsible for conducting scientific research in the field of food safety in alignment with the global strategy. You will lead, manage, and support projects that are in line with NIFSAS/NFSI strategy to meet business requirements within defined timelines.
Your role involves overseeing lab activities from start to finish, ensuring proficiency, and optimal functioning of the lab while adhering to Nestle and/or IS 17025 GLP & Safety protocols. It is essential to maintain all documentation according to Nestle requirements, including projects, i2l, analysis, data management, CAPEX, budget, training, key decisions, etc.
Responsibilities include leading, managing, and supporting scientific research projects and experiments to meet business needs aligned with the global strategy in collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders. You will document all scientific research as per i2l and/or other Technical Assistance (TA) / Proof of Concepts (POC). Additionally, you will validate and establish validation dossiers for new and existing methods based on Nestlé validation standards, provide analytical data timely to support projects, and document knowledge from projects and latest developments in the relevant field.
Further responsibilities involve completing methods, transferring, and deploying them in line with relevant stakeholders, supporting troubleshooting efforts with science-based facts, and contributing to digitalization initiatives. You will be responsible for the efficient functioning of the laboratory, ensuring safety, time, and cost efficiency, selecting and organizing analysis performed by subcontracted labs, conducting self-assessments, and assisting factories and markets regarding instrumentation and analytical monitoring.
The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in food-related research and analysis. A PhD in Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Dairy, Oil, Food Chemistry, Food Science, or a Master's degree in these subjects with a minimum of 5-7 years of work experience is preferred.
