The Manager is part of Defence Collective Singapore (DCS’s) School Programmes Department. The Manager will be leading the team responsible for planning, conceptualising and developing MOE curriculum-based programme, content and educational resources for key National Education (NE) programmes and events, designed to engage school audience groups across all DCS entities.
The jobholder also ensures successful implementation of all engagement programmes in terms of achieving projected KPIs (NE experience, Programme engagement etc). This would include themed-based projects, education resources (physical, digital and hybrid formats), centre-based, outreach and digital programmes. This position will report directly to Head of the School Programmes Department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead one of the School Programme’s team to develop new, high volume, special thematic programmes/events (e.g., TD Day, Year-End Post Exams etc.) for school audience groups.
- Monitor the conceptualisation, design and development, as well as the conduct of events and programmes in terms of meeting learning outcomes, alignment with MOE curriculum (workshops, learning stations, logistical support, co-ordination with internal/ external stakeholders/ partners).
- Project manage and conduct analysis of programme development and implementation with internal and external stakeholders to maintain high quality of NE/customer experience and product.
- Work closely with MarCom and Sales teams in the publicity and sales of programme/products, overseeing the analysis and evaluation of their effectiveness in meeting key stakeholders/target groups’ requirements.
- Plan and monitor procurement and administration processes to align with company’s corporate and financial governance/guidelines (documentation, SOPs, finance, budget forecast/ & utilisation).
- Plan manpower deployment and assign key responsibilities equitably to team members to ensure successful implementation of programmes/events/projects (based on job designation)
- Conduct regular performance reviews and chart out development plans, learning opportunities (in consultation with the Head of School Programmes)
- Provide support to other Programmes teams and/or departments in the SDC for key/larger scale events/programmes; and
- Carry out ad-hoc duties / projects as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ability to infuse novel teaching methodologies (such as gamification, scenario-based learning etc.) to ensure differentiated learning across different target groups whilst maintaining quality of engagement and learning
- Ability to work with internal & external stakeholders to ensure smooth project implementation within potentially tight timelines and to deliver engaging and meaningful programmes.
- Ability to work closely with strategic partners such as MOE and schools, and manage expectations of multiple stakeholders/partners, yet ensure DCS’s interest is kept on high priority.
- Ability to meet challenging KPIs
Requirements:
- At least 5 or more years’ experience in educationally focused institutions or attractions, preferably with 1-2 years in managerial role.
- NIE-Trained educator
- Keen interest and firm believer in National Education
- Relevant experience in programme development and project management
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking, communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
- Good supervisory, training and project management skills, i.e., organised, able to multi-task and handle tight deadlines.
- Have a strong command of both written and spoken English.
- Good knowledge and application of MS Office applications.
