Job description
Job Responsibilities
Serve as secretariat to support A*STAR Institutional Review Board (IRB) and National Advisory Committees such as the Genetic Modification Advisory Committee (GMAC) and the National Advisory Committee for Laboratory Animal Research (NACLAR).
Job Scope
Provide end-to-end secretariat support to IRB, GMAC, and NACLAR, including coordination of meetings, preparation of papers and minutes, and processing of appointments and honoraria.
Facilitate acknowledgement, tracking, review and endorsing approvals of GMO-related research and commercial release applications and maintaining official records.
Conduct literature reviews and horizon scanning on emerging GM technologies and international regulatory developments.
Support A*STAR IRB and GMAC’s external and internal outreach efforts, including talks, seminars, competitions, and engagement at regional and international forums.
Manage GMAC’s digital platforms, public enquiries, and budget tracking for the national advisory committees.
Liaise with relevant regulatory authorities (e.g. SFA, MOH, NParks, etc.) on GM-related issues. Conduct preliminary assessments on A*STAR IRB applications, making informed and justifiable recommendations to A*STAR IRB Chair.
Contribute to the overall mission of Research Office in upholding the highest level of research compliance and governance.
Job Requirements
Minimally a university degree with a good knowledge of STEM discipline.
Minimally 3 years of experience in research or research administration.
