Job description

Responsibilities

• Lead the SJ/EIN Renewable team and expand the team to support regional projects and offices.
• Undertake business development and strategic planning to grow and expand the renewable energy business regionally.
• Review and check system designs for rooftop, ground-mounted, and floating solar systems, including equipment selection, sizing, and evaluation, considering space, CAPEX, efficiency, maintenance, and operation.
• Perform and review computer simulations (e.g., PVSyst) of solar PV system performance to optimize energy generation and efficiency.
• Review electrical AC/DC cable sizing.
• Create and review electrical single-line diagrams, system designs, panel schedules, and connection diagrams using CAD software.
• Develop design specifications and functional requirements for residential, commercial, or industrial solar energy systems.
• Prepare checklists for review and inspection of completed solar installation projects.
• Lead consultations with local authorities and agencies such as SCDF, SPPG, and EMA.
• Support project execution and commissioning activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (Hons) in Electrical Engineering from a PEB-recognized university.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in designing solar PV systems for rooftop, ground-mounted, and floating PV systems.
• Experience with BESS integration with PV generation, complying with local codes and standards, is advantageous.
• Familiarity with EMA and SPPG requirements for power generation, transmission, connectivity, and system design, including consultation processes, is advantageous.
• Experience in planning, sizing, and designing 22kV substations and equipment is advantageous.
• Proficiency with HOMER and ETAP software is advantageous.
• Knowledge of SCDF code requirements for PV systems.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
• Analytical problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
• Leadership qualities to lead diverse teams.
• Team player capable of managing clients and stakeholders effectively.
