Job summary

TD SYNNEX (Tech Data) is seeking a senior export compliance leader to manage day-to-day export controls and regulatory escalations across the APJ region. You will champion an enterprise-wide compliance program, deliver targeted trainings, and oversee staff and vendor teams involved in export activities.

The role requires extensive regulatory knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to coordinate across functions and countries.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of relevant export compliance work experience.
• 3–5 years of experience directly managing/supervising employees.
• Bachelor’s Degree with Export Controls field of study required.
• Economics/Business Management Degree as supplementary education.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day export control activities and escalations across Sales, Operations, and Logistics stakeholders.
• Delivers training on export compliance, licensing, and related topics to stakeholders.
• Implements the export compliance program across countries in the APJ region.
• Responds to government queries on export control matters.
• Represents and manages staff or vendor teams performing export control tasks.
• Conducts self-assessments to identify risk areas and drive corrective actions.
• Leads integration of automated trade automation tools in APJ ERPs (SAP & JDE).

Job description

Job Purpose

Manages the day-to-day business and escalations relative to export activities of the company in the Asia Pacific and Japan region. Implement the trade compliance program in the various countries in the APJ region. Delivers training on various trade compliance topics such as US reexport license requirements, Product Classification, Customs Valuation, Country of Origin, Export Controls for US and APJ, Other Government Regulatory requirements and other topics. Ensure recordkeeping standards for export are maintained by all countries in the region. Conduct compliance assessments/ audits of export operations in various countries. Determine compliance with in-country rules and regulations. Provides technical and management support duringgovernment conducted audits. Provide advice to the business on export requirements of various countries in the region. Address escalations made by regulatory authorities relative to exports of the company. Manage the daily activities of regulatory staff reporting directly to them.

Responsibilities

• Manages/addresses day-to-day business and escalations relating to export control activities of the company from Sales, Sales Operations, Customs brokers, Logistics Operations, and other stakeholders. (25%)
• Delivers training on export compliance/export licensing topics to all relevant stakeholders. (10%)
• Implement the export compliance program of the company in various countries. (20%)
• Respond to government queries relative to export control matters. (5%)
• Manage staff or third-party vendor's team who carries out the transactional export control activities. (10%)
• Conduct self-assessments on export control operations to determine risk areas and implement corrective actions. (15%)
• Lead the integration of the automated trade automation tool in the APJ ERPs (SAP & JDE) system. (15%)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• 8 to 10 Years of relevant export compliance work experience.
• 3 to 5 Years of experience directly managing / supervising employees.
• Bachelor's Degree with Export Controls field of study required.
• Other Education / Certifications: Economics/Business Management Degree
