Job Position Summary

The Marine Superintendent of the Quality & Safety Department is responsible for ensuring safe, smooth, and efficient ship operations related to quality management.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Conduct shipboard internal audits and QHSE inspections as required.
  2. Investigate incidents and near misses.
  3. Review minutes of shipboard safety committee meetings and Masters' reviews.
  4. Review and approve risk assessments.
  5. Assist departments with the Management of Change process and documentation upkeep.
  6. Follow up on vessels calling critical ports such as Australia, US, China, PARIS MoU, and Black Sea MoU ports.
  7. Review and issue work permits and risk assessments in coordination with the technical department.
  8. Train officers and crew on tanker operations, quality systems, and related matters.
  9. Inspect vessels and supervise cargo and tank cleaning operations as needed.
  10. Assist in revising and preparing QHSE manuals and safety bulletins.
  11. Handle contingencies as outlined in the Contingency Planning Manual.
  12. Participate in safety campaigns and other assigned tasks.
Qualifications and Experience

Essential: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Navigation or an equivalent shipping qualification. Valid Certificate of Competency II/2 (Master/Chief Officer). Minimum of 3 years relevant experience as Master.
