Title and Summary

Overview

The Regional Government Engagement unit engages across a number of markets in Asia Pacific to design and launch strategic commercial programs for the Government segment. Mastercard’s focused approach to engaging with government agencies aims at building sustainable partnerships while developing new revenue opportunities, making Mastercard a strategic partner to Governments.

To effectively support both nation-wide or agency-focused marquee engagements, Mastercard is building dedicated analytical and program management capacity in the government space.

The Role

  • Lead / Support development of solution- or market-focused client engagement program plans, in alignment with the local Government Engagement lead and with the assigned Country Manager & local team. This includes scoping program initiatives & defining expected outcomes for Mastercard and the Government and resource requirements.
  • Set up and execute relevant business models/deal structures to cater to government-related activities that align with Mastercard’s financial and business considerations. Play an active advisory role in business, strategic, and financial projects.
  • Accountable for developing and monitoring the program’s KPIs, including business case development with initiative owner(s), and for managing the partnership throughout all stages: Discover, Prioritize, Plan, Execute, Codify.
  • Engage the Government Center of Excellence (CoE) and other relevant units to identify solutions and assets for deployment as part of the engagement program. Drive alignment of vision and purpose, and help develop the overall ROI for the engagement.
  • Co-develop engagement program plans with initiative owners, including workstreams, phases, KPIs, resource investments, and governance.
  • Monitor the program ongoing, coordinate with market and global units across workstreams.
  • Manage communication (meetings, workshops) with Country Managers, regional teams, global Government CoE leads, and in-country teams regarding program status, risks, gaps, and escalations.
  • Conduct demand analysis for existing and future Mastercard solutions for the Government CoE.
  • Support Sales Excellence practices, including opportunity monitoring, feedback into the engagement methodology, documentation, and vendor engagement to enable replication across countries.

All About You

  • Background in business and strategic consulting with a passion for payments/fintech solutions and public sector engagement.
  • Experience in market research, process evaluation, and metrics analysis to evaluate and measure outcomes.
  • Understanding of government processes is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in business planning, pipeline management, project governance, and issue resolution.
  • Familiarity with solution development from concept to market, including identifying needs, researching, conceptualizing, developing product roadmaps, and building MVPs.
