A leading company in sustainability is seeking a Procurement and Credit Manager to oversee sourcing and purchasing activities while managing credit risks. The role involves developing procurement strategies, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely deliveries. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree related to Supply Chain or Finance, with at least 5 years of relevant experience, and strong negotiation skills are essential.
Job Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services for the organization while ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timeliness. This role also includes a critical responsibility for credit management, ensuring that supplier and customer credit terms are effectively negotiated, monitored, and optimized to maintain healthy cash flow and minimize financial risk.
Procurement Duties:
Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals.
Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and establish strong vendor relationships.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
Manage the procurement of raw materials, equipment, and services in line with operational requirements.
Ensure timely delivery of goods and services to meet production and operational schedules.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory.
Evaluate and optimize purchasing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., operations, production, finance) to forecast needs and manage inventory levels.
Credit Control Duties:
Assess and manage the credit risk of suppliers and customers.
Set and enforce credit limits and payment terms based on financial analysis and company policies.
Monitor outstanding accounts payable and receivable to ensure timely payment and collection.
Work closely with the finance team to manage working capital and cash flow related to procurement.
Resolve credit issues and disputes with suppliers or customers.
Maintain accurate credit records and perform periodic credit reviews.
Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent field from recognised university.
Professional certification (e.g., CIPS or equivalent) is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in a credit or financial management role.
Strong knowledge of procurement practices, financial analysis, and credit control procedures.
Proficient in ERP and procurement software (e.g., SAP).
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
