Job summary

sggovterp is seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design and implement secure, scalable Azure-based infrastructure in support of critical government services. You will collaborate with the Applications team to deliver resilient cloud solutions and strong governance.

You will oversee contractors, enable CI/CD pipelines, and drive automation while ensuring observability, incident management, and regulatory compliance with security requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience with Azure cloud infrastructure design and implementation.
• Familiarity with ITIL service management processes (Incident, Problem, Change).
• Experience with observability tools and container tech (Docker/Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

• Design and implement secure cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure aligned with government standards.
• Oversee contractors managing cloud-hosted apps to ensure high availability and performance.
• Enable CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices with application teams, driving automation.
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for proactive operations.
• Manage incidents, problems, and changes per ITIL, perform root-ccause analysis and preventive actions.
• Ensure security, governance, and audit compliance; coordinate with CISO on cyber incidents.
• Manage contracts for security testing services (Vulnerability Assessments, Penetration Testing) and for DDoS/WAF services.
• Conduct change management to support operations and governance compliance

Job description

What the role is

You will be an integral part of our IT team, working closely with the Applications team to design and implement secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure to support critical government systems and digital services.

What you will be working on

• Design and implement secure cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure. aligned with government policies and standards (e.g., IM8, Zero Trust)
• Oversee contractors managing application systems hosted in the Cloud to ensure high availability, performance, and reliability
• Enable and support Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and DevOps practices in collaboration with application teams, and drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort
• Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for proactive system management
• Manage and resolve incidents, problems, and changes in accordance with ITIL processes, perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures for recurring issues
• Ensure compliance with security, governance, and audit requirements
• Work with the CISO to manage and coordinate responses to cybersecurity incidents
• Manage contracts for security testing services, including Network Vulnerability Assessment, Cloud and Web Vulnerability Assessment, Penetration Testing, and Source Code Reviews
• Manage contracts for Distributed Denial of Service(DDoS) mitigation and Web Application Firewall (WAF) services for application systems
• Conduct change management to support operations and ensure governance compliance

What we are looking for

• Experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a good understanding of Azure services (e.g., Compute, Networking, Storage, Identity & Access Management). Knowledge of AWS is a plus.
• Familiarity with ITIL service management processes, including Incident, Problem, and Change Management
• Experience with observability tools (e.g. Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Grafana) and container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders
