As the Manager of Accounting, OUS at Cordis, you will play a crucial internal role reporting to the Senior Director, OUS. You will collaborate closely with the OUS team, corporate finance and accounting team, as well as various team members across the organization. Your responsibilities will include managing daily accounting activities, overseeing accounting procedures, and ensuring the production of US GAAP and statutory financial statements. You will also be involved in addressing ad-hoc technical accounting queries that may arise.Your key responsibilities will involve managing the corporate accounting team to oversee the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate recording of all costs, reviewing journal entries, reconciling account balances, and preparing reports. You will also be responsible for the monthly close process of assigned entities, preparing financial reporting packages, analyzing financial transactions for compliance with US GAAP, and preparing financial statements for stakeholders.Additionally, you will play a vital role in preparing and reviewing balance sheet account reconciliations, resolving outstanding items, reviewing cash reconciliations for various jurisdictions, and providing necessary support for both external and internal audits. You will have the opportunity to provide recommendations for enhancing accounting procedures and policies, preparing key monthly variance account reviews, managing partnerships with business line leaders to monitor and report monthly results, and assisting in budget preparation and review.Furthermore, you will identify opportunities for automation and improved financial reporting, prepare ad hoc reports and financial analyses, participate in special projects, and assist in the preparation of technical accounting memorandums. You will also have management responsibilities over third-party providers involved in preparing statutory financials and local bookkeeping, ensuring adherence to reporting calendars, providing necessary information, reviewing US GAAP to Statutory GAAP reconciliations, and supervising accounting team members assigned to your role.To qualify for this role, you should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting (MBA is a plus) with at least 5 years of accounting experience. Previous supervisory experience is required, and public accounting experience is preferred. A CPA or equivalent certification is a plus. Strong communication skills, sharp business acumen, proficiency in major ERP systems and advanced Excel, and a thorough understanding of US GAAP are essential for this role. Additionally, analytical skills, organizational abilities, attention to detail, and the capability to work within deadlines in a fast-paced environment are crucial.
