Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct market studies to identify suitable GSE equipment products and technologies, and determine business needs for aviation speciality equipment and vehicles/ground support equipment fleets (type, model and quantities).
  • Draft specifications (performance, technical, safety, maintainability), set evaluation criteria, and secretariat to the procurement/tender evaluation committees.
  • Check development and design standards to ensure reliability, safety, maintainability, optimized total cost of ownership
  • Oversee factory testing, quality assurance, and acceptance testing.
  • Manage the induction of procured equipment into operations, including material/spares package, commissioning and training
  • Work closely with SATS Procurement team to drive value capture and cost optimization over life cycle.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering (Masters preferred) with relevant senior technical and management experience (10 years or more) in defining and managing large procurement, refurbishment or maintenance programs done by service providers and in-house technical crew. Planning to cover logistics support definitisation (including master material data, training design, acceptance tests, spares/inventory provisioning)
  • Assume Engineer In-Charge/Deputy Engineer in-charge roles to define, evaluate and assess engineering/operational specifications and activities for design, manufacture and refurbishment workscope and tasks carried out on Aviation Ground Support Equipment/Airport Specialty Equipment and vehicles, to ensure performance, safety, quality and optimized total cost of ownership.
  • Possess relevant domain knowledge of aviation ground operations, or ground handling, or aviation maintenance, or in land transport , or in industrial equipment fleet management (mechanical, hydraulics, electronic controls, internal combustion engines, electrification) and technologies (predictive/condition monitoring, automation, autonomous).
  • Able to work on occasional weekend/public holidays as required.
  • State Class 3 driving license and able to attain SATS higher class driving licenses (Class 4 and 5) to operate airport specialty equipment is advantageous
