Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated Manager to join the Media Industry Group’s Strategy and Planning team. The successful candidate must be a critical thinker and will assist in developing strategic plans for Singapore’s media industry, analysing market trends, and supporting implementation to drive success across the Media Industry Group (MIG).

What you will work on:

  • Develop holistic understanding of the media landscape in Singapore - comprising of market leading media MNCs, globally competitive media companies and talents, and active industry associations.
  • Assist in designing strategies and programmes to develop a vibrant media ecosystem in Singapore, and recommended course corrections as needed, that makes us an attractive media hub and gateway to SEA.
  • Assist in developing, integrating and tracking key performance indicators across different business units in the Media Industry Group, to maximise synergies and maintain alignment across all levels, thus creating a coherent narrative to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely review/reporting of key workstreams and critical performance metrics.
  • Ensure cross-functional and cross-conglomerate collaboration by influencing cross-functional teams, building partnerships across the organisation to drive initiatives to on-time, on-budget successful outcomes.
  • Assist in shaping long-term direction and growth of the Media Industry Group (MIG). This may involve issue identification, prioritisation, strategy development, resource allocation etc.
  • Stay updated on latest global trends related to Media (e.g. tech space, creative space, global MNCs) to provide recommendations that address gaps/improve existing processes and facilitate strategic decision-making in ensuring competitiveness of our media ecosystem.

What we are looking for:

  • 5-8 years of experience in strategy, management consulting, start-ups and/or venture capital.
  • Track record in developing/implementing strategic, transformational and/or course-correctional plans; working in cross-functional environments and managing multi-stakeholder conflicts effectively.
  • Ability to distil complex ideas into clear strategies in slides and writing with some degree of independence.
  • Problem-solving aptitude, critical and creative thinking – able to piece together the big picture resourcefully if required.
  • Ability to perform research independently with the intention to draw insights and articulate strategic recommendations.
  • Personal drive, excellence, organisational and time management skills as seen from high performance in past organisations; with ability to work in a fast-paced environment, while balancing multiple projects.
  • Adaptable and comfortable with wayfinding in an ambiguous yet dynamic environment, while applying interpersonal skills that maintain and build strategic partnerships within the organisation.
  • Collaborative, cares for others, and able to form close bond within a lean team.
  • Background in Social Sciences/Business/Economics preferred but not compulsory.
