Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and manage standards development in the areas of Manufacturing Standards for the Singapore Standardization Programme
  • Perform the role as Standards Committee Secretary to Manufacturing Standards Committee (MSC) and their supporting Technical Committees and Working Groups
  • Conduct technical research to establish new standards and review existing ones
  • Plan, monitor, and manage the national Manufacturing standardisation projects. This involves planning and coordinating with other government agencies, professional bodies and industry associations
  • Manage and ensure the timely delivery of all standards development projects
  • Collaborate effectively with industry partners to identify critical and emerging standards to support national plans and enhance enterprise competitiveness, improve productivity, and facilitate trade and market access
  • Handle all inquiries received promptly regarding the standards under your area of responsibility
  • Responsible for conducting verification studies to assess user identification and adoption of the standards
  • Success will be measured by the development and launch of standards as well as the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs) specified in SMF SDO workplan
  • Undertake ad-hoc projects as directed by Head, SMF-SDO

Requirements

  • Degree holder or equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of work experience
  • Preferably with knowledge of statutory requirements
  • Results-oriented and able to execute projects in a team and independently
  • Possess excellent networking, communication, and industry engagement skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other productivity tools
  • Experience in organising virtual, hybrid, and physical events and meetings
  • Prior experience in supervisory and project management
  • Secretariat experience and background in manufacturing preferred
