A leading company in logistics seeks a senior HR professional to enhance their human resource functions. The role involves managerial responsibilities across recruitment, training, compensation, and performance management while fostering a supportive culture for growth. Candidates should hold a degree in HR with substantial experience in MNC environments.
· Perform the full spectrum of human resource functions locally and regionally, including performance talent management, recruitment and selection, job grading, compensation and benefits, training and development planning, management trainee program, retention programs and public and employee relations.
· Assist the Division Manager, Corporate Services on manpower strategic planning and development, including recruitment strategies, effective succession planning, organization development, organization behaviour, people development initiatives, benchmarking, employees’ databank, employees’ morale initiatives locally and within the region.
Organizational Planning
· Plan the propose HR related matters of the Management to continuously improve the HR functions in the Company.
· Develop the human resource strategies to support overall company’s strategies including manpower planning, performance management and career path development.
· Work with the management team to enhance the organizational culture and values system.
· Provide input from HR perspective to management for decision-making purposes.
· Roll out HR initiatives to subsidiary companies.
· Build a corporate culture that is conducive for continuous growth and improvement.
· Develop and implement succession planning and contingency planning.
Consultancy
· Provide HR consultancy and advice to department heads.
· Diagnose HR needs of internal customers and provide advice on the best approach to managing HR related issues.
· Counsel and coach Department Heads on key HR processes and performance issues.
· Maintain quality relationships and communications with all stakeholders, both internal and external.
Recruitment
· Interview job applicants; review applications/resume; evaluate applicants’ skills and make recommendations regarding applicants’ qualifications.
Orientation / Induction
· Conduct orientation program for new employees.
· Conduct review and make improvements for effective program for new hires.
Training and Development
· Make recommendations to the Department Heads on training courses, i.e. relevance to the job, budget, etc.
· Develop training Roadmap (generic) for different spectrum of jobs in the company and for employee development.
HR Policies and Procedures
· Establish and implement HR policies and procedures that are compliant to local labor statues.
· Ensure established human resource policies and procedures that are adopted and applied.
· Provide advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation.
· Coordinate the resolution of specify policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries.
Performance Management
· Implement performance management and reward programs including confirmation & termination etc.
· Facilitate performance appraisal exercise.
· Develop and implement career paths and goals for key managers and staff.
Staff Counseling
· Conduct staff counseling and manage employee grievances as and when required.
· Conduct exit interviews with resigned employees as and when required.
Industrial Relations
· Engage in collective agreement negotiations.
· Assisting enhancing harmonious labor-management relationship.
Public Relations
· Address any public relation matters in various countries to enhance the image of the organization.
· Take care of all advertisements for recruitments and announcements to maximize effectiveness and solicit appropriate responses.
Quality Management
· Act as the HR Department document owner.
· Monitor the achievement of quality objectives for HR business block.
· To commit and comply to HPL Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
· To commit and comply to HPL Quality Management System.
· Fulfill any other tasks as and when assigned by the superior.
· Possess a Degree in Human Resource or a related discipline with at least 5 years’ relevant experience with adequate knowledge of HR practices in Singapore and the Asia Pacific region.
· More than 10 years of working experience with at least 5 years in an MNC environment especially in Logistics and Shipping industries.
· Good knowledge of local labor, Employment Act and employment practices in the Asia Pacific region.
· Good knowledge of current trends and practices of human resource administration.
· Results-orientated/driven person and a team player.
· Strong analytical skills and commitment to excellence.
· Passion for HR work with a desire to serve and lead people.
· Able to interpret data and provide meaningful analysis of material; staff turnover, salary skills.
· Able to plan, organize, meet deadlines and demonstrate effective time management skills.
· Able to influence all levels of management and employees and be flexible in operational style to meet the needs of a multi-cultural workplace.
· Able to provide leadership in customer service – professional approach to internal/external clients.
