Position Purpose

As a key member of the Risk Management team, the Manager will work with the Director to design and implement a risk management framework in tandem with the Group’s strategic plans and to help the Group meet its business objectives.

This position will partner closely with other Group Business Functions to review new business areas and projects to identify key risk issues and measures to manage the risk. The role shall provide sound and practical guidance to the Business Lines, as well as ensure that these matters are escalated to the appropriate approving authorities for decision-making if the risks have not been adequately considered or mitigated.

This position requires significant in-depth familiarity with business or commercial practices in the region(s) as well as the Group’s frameworks and policies in managing risks. The Manager will design and implement programmes to train and guide staff on key risk management policies, processes and tools.

The incumbent will role model SJ’s values, ethics and code of conduct and ensure all business activities are carried out in accordance with these guiding principles.

Key Accountabilities
  • Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework for SJ Group - Design, Implement, Enhance

Collaborate as a member of the Risk Management team to design and implement an Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework in tandem with the Group’s strategic plans and to help the Group meet its business objectives. This includes:

  • Preparation and presentation of regular reports to the Audit & Risk Committee (ARC). (12 Decks in total)
  • Analysis & preparation of Enterprise Risk Registers and Risk Heat Maps. (Planning phase with new Business Lines approach)
  • Review of relevant risk management policies
Enterprise Data Platform & Dashboards
  • Work with technology stakeholders to ensure that GRM's requirements are implemented within the EDP and Dashboard
  • Performed UAT for GRM requirements completed in Jul 2024
QEHS Working Committee Representative
  • Review relevant processes
  • Identify and review the applicable legislative requirements on occupational health & safety, and security related requirements which the organization subscribes
  • Advise the various department / functional activities on risk management issues
Formal Qualifications
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering; Accounting; Business Finance; Management; Science or equivalent.
  • Professional Qualifications (CA; ACCA; CIA; CAMS; GRCP; CEH; or equivalent)
  • Risk Management certification (COSO Enterprise Risk Management Certificate, COSO Internal Control Certificate; Certified Risk Professional Based on ISO31000:2018, ISO/IEC 27001:2013 and ISO22301:2019; or equivalent)
  • Advance Certificate in WSH and Develop A Risk Management Implementation Plan, Integrated Management System (ISO9001, 14001, 45001) Internal Auditor and FSM are a plus
Requirements
  • Minimum 10 years of related experience in a similar role
  • Coach Business Units in the principles of risk management and owning of their own risk processes
  • Relevant experience in quantitative risk management, internal audit, controls, business process re-engineering and due diligence work is a plus
  • Experience in business analysis, systems implementation, handling of datasets, familiarity with spreadsheets and financial data tools
