Job summary

Ministry of Defence of Singapore is seeking a geospatial leader to oversee GEOINT initiatives, data governance, and analytical functions that support planning and capability development.

You will conduct advanced spatial analyses, create maps and dashboards, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into effective geospatial solutions while promoting the adoption of new technologies.

Qualifications

• Education in Geography, GIS, Geomatics or related fields preferred.
• At least 1 year of geospatial analysis or GIS development experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
• Willingness to learn and explore emerging geospatial capabilities and tools.

What The Role Is

You are responsible for leading and advancing the organisation's geospatial products and analysis methods by overseeing geospatial data, systems, projects, and analytical functions that support operational planning, decision-making and capability development.

What You Will Be Working On

• Govern Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) initiatives
• Conduct advanced spatial analysis and deliver actionable insights through maps, dashboards, reports and other geospatial products
• Work closely with stakeholders to translate operational requirements into geospatial solutions
• Drive the adoption of emerging geospatial technologies and best practices for the organisation

Challenge(s)

• Leading and developing a team of GEOINT analysts to deliver timely and accurate geospatial products in support of operational requirements
• Fostering strong collaboration across diverse stakeholders, integrating data from multiple sources, and ensuring the highest standards of data governance, security and quality

What We Are Looking For

• Education in Geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics, Geospatial Science, Remote Sensing or a related field such as Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, or Data Analytics and Visualisation is preferred
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in geospatial analysis, GIS application development, spatial data management, or a related field is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Keen interest in harnessing geospatial technologies to support operational outcomes and a willingness to continuously learn and explore emerging geospatial capabilities
• Positive disposition, strong interpersonal skills, and a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively in a team, build strong stakeholder relationships and contribute positively to a dynamic, high-performing, and mission-focused work environment
