Job description

Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis is primarily responsible for the daily operations of the planning & reporting team, ensuring that management accounts are accurate and timely. He/she will analyse data to understand and present the organisation’s financial performance and position. This will include identification/implementation of enhancement for improved productivity and driving Strategic Plan and Annual Plan processes including development of action plans and implementation of tracking procedures and other specific initiatives.

Principal Responsibilities:

  1. Performance & Service Management
    1. Oversee the analysis, reporting and discussion of financial and operational performance
    2. Perform scenario analysis on the plant run mode /shutdown impact, while collaborating with the commercial and operations team
    3. Prepare financial insights and recommendations to senior leadership to support strategic decision making.
    4. Collaborate with and support stakeholders with all their reporting information requirements e.g. monthly / quarterly standard / reporting packages
    5. Lead and drive business decision support including specific initiatives or program support
    6. Review, assess and challenge segments on actual performance and variances against forecast, prior periods and plan
    7. Provide leadership role in driving strategic plan process including development of action plans and implementation of tracking procedures
    8. Track synergy numbers and performance against targets
    9. Provide support for contract reviews and analysis
    10. Ensure optimisation of ERP system in the creation of management reports and templates
    11. Drive the annual planning process and target setting for the Company
    12. Work with Operations teams in the review of standard costs on a periodic basis
    13. Partner with business units to analyze financial results, key performance indicators and operational metrics.
    14. Direct all monthly closing activities relating to Planning and Controlling such as accurate and timely review of revenue and costs
    15. Working with the Productivity Champion in evaluating savings in productivity projects.
    16. Establish performance standards for the team and measure performance
    17. Perform other tasks or initiatives as directed by the Head of Finance, including ad-hoc projects
    18. Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data and reporting across systems & teams.
    19. Continuously improve financial models, planning tools, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency and insight.
  2. Investment & Control
    1. Own the country investment process and all business cases/ projects.
    2. Perform advanced financial modelling for large investment projects.
    3. Review investment projects / capital expenditure opportunities with the business teams.
    4. Perform post investment review of the completed projects with financial & commercial rigor.
    5. Working with the Investment controlling team in Capex reporting to country, regional and global teams.
  3. Respond to ad-hoc requests from Linde Group Management and regional office.

Required Key Skills (Functional/Technical) :

  1. Degree in Accounting or Business Finance
  2. Minimum 6 years’ experience in FP&A, financial modelling, and analysis
  3. Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team
  4. Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting process, and business case evaluation
  5. Sound MS Office skills especially advanced Excel, Hyperion & Power BI knowledge with a good working knowledge of SAP
  6. Able to execute change strategies and bring change projects to successful completion.
  7. Strong collaboration skills with ability to work with cross functional teams
  8. Demonstrates operational Finance knowledge and financial analysis skills with hands on knowledge of financial operations.
  9. Able to drive business performance by monitoring execution of finance processes and continuously improving the same.
  10. Self-motivated individual requiring less supervision with passion for excellence and peak performance.
  11. Excellent teamwork with ability to work autonomously
  12. Strong communication skills (oral, written and listening)
  13. Attention to details, excellent analytical, problem solving skills
  14. Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
