Job summary

A leading technology company in Singapore is seeking an experienced Financial Accounting Manager. You will oversee financial operations across Malaysia, India, and Singapore, ensuring compliance with global standards. The ideal candidate has a strong background in accounting, 8-10 years of experience, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of the Japanese language is an advantage as you will liaise with Japan HQ. This role requires excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in financial accounting and consolidation accounting.
  • 3 to 4 years of audit experience.
  • Strong familiarity with corporate reporting requirements.
  • Solid knowledge of international accounting standards.
  • Proficiency in Japanese language (JLPT N1) is an added advantage.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Manager with specialized expertise in Financial Accounting. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of Japanese culture and business practices. This role demands meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to support operations across three entities (Malaysia, India and Singapore). Additionally, the candidate will serve as the primary liaison with Japan Headquarters. The key responsibilities include the following:

Malaysia

  • Prepare comprehensive monthly management reports and financial forecasts, including detailed presentation slides for senior management review
  • Perform in-depth analytical reviews of the financial performance of across various business units; investigate variances against norms, budgets and forecasts
  • Lead the coordination and preparation of annual budgets, and periodic forecasts, ensuring alignment with corporate financial objectives and operational plans
  • Participate in and support the rollout of Oracle Hyperion, including user training and process documentation to enhance financial planning and reporting capabilities

India

  • Plan, organize and coordinate all accounting activities related to company expansion plans and projects, working closely with Japan HQ to ensure compliance and alignment with global standards
  • Oversee and manage relationships with third-party external service providers, including for statutory accountants and tax consultants, to ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting and compliance
  • Serve as the primary liaison with the task force at Japan HQ, facilitating clear communication and resolution of accounting and reporting issues
  • Act as a key user and subject matter expert during the SAP ERP implementation project, assisting with system testing, and post-implementation support to optimize accounting processes

Singapore

  • Establish sub-group consolidation processes
  • Coordinate and collaborate with external auditors and Japan HQ to address audit queries and ensure seamless preparation and finalization of regarding consolidated accounts

Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting, ACCA or other relevant professional accounting qualification
  • 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in financial accounting and consolidation accounting and 3 to 4 years of audit experience
  • Strong familiarity with corporate reporting requirements
  • Solid knowledge of international accounting standards
  • Hands-on, proactive approach with excellent prioritization skills
  • Experience with Oracle EBS and SAP FICO systems is a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in Japanese language (JLPT N1) is an added advantage, facilitating effective with our Japan HQ and stakeholders
  • Strong communication and good interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous, organized and resourceful team player
  • Highly motivated and self-driven individual
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% annually, if required
