Responsibilities:
- Review engineering drawings, documents and specifications in conjunction with technical specifications/contracts
- Monitor and report progress supervise/co-ordinate various construction activities related to electrical and ensure compliance with plans and schedules.
- Attend meetings with EPC contractors, other stake holders for ensuring project is executed on time.
- Establish and maintain regular communications and consultations (formal and informal) with primary points of contact involved in the project such as consultants, contractors and other staff
- Identify the areas for value engineering opportunities and take up EPC for implementation and project cost saving measures.
- Advise company senior management with regard to work challenges, unusual risks, and/or threats to project success including likely defects.
- Participate in the site budgeting process as needed
- Ensure that installation and commissioning is done in accordance with agreed procedures and quality documentation.
- Resolve conflicts arising out of project issues.
- Shall be responsible for achieving the mechanical completion of the project related to Electrical systems and ensure that the project is achieved within the time and budget.
- Develop systems process and SOP for capturing the punch lists and ensure that these punch lists are liquidated within agreed timeline and to the satisfaction of asset management team.
- Review and comment on commissioning procedures and commissioning check lists in coordination with asset management team
- Participate during all commissioning checks and tests. Shall be responsible for successfully conducting of plant performance test as per the agreed contract.
- Shall be responsible for coordinating with EMA and related to all regulatory compliances.
- Any other jobs assigned by Project director.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering with a concentration in power generation.
- At least 10-12 years relevant power plant project experience in Singapore. Should have worked in all electrical systems of a Power Plant. Expertise in Generator, GT Transformer and switchyard is essential.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in monitoring the electrical related activities at job site.
- Confident in abilities and proven track record.
- Must be able to plan and conduct engineering reviews of proposals, plans, estimates submitted by contractor, consultants with a view to making recommendations to management
- Extensive knowledge and experience with use of international codes of practice and familiarity with local SS codes of practice for the electrical work
- Understanding of power generation project procedures and practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to communicate well with team members and being a team player.
- Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with all trades.
- Must be computer literate, with experience using word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation program.
- Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.
Others:
- 5 days’ work week.
- Willingness to travel to Corporate/Site Office whenever required
