Manager, Data Science

Job Description

In your role as a Decision Science manager, you will:

1. Own a distinct domain and be responsible for end outcomes
2. Own holistic and data-driven risk strategies to support PayPal’s global financial business goals
3. Plan and execute long-term projects from start to finish
4. Drive end-to-end processes with partners across many organizations
5. Work with product and platform teams to develop cutting-edge, scalable and safe products, to enhance the experience for our global customers
6. Measure performance against KPIs and goals
7. Maintain ongoing communication with stakeholders and peers across the company and share updates with senior leaders in a clear manner
8. Lead and mentor your team members

What do you need to bring:

1. Bachelor’s Degree or above in one of the following: economics, finance, engineering, Data sciences, etc.
2. 8+ years of work experience in relevant positions (e.g. Decision scientist, data analyst, statistician, data scientist, FP&A, product/process manager, risk management, army intelligence units)
3. 2+ years of experience as a people manager
4. Proven analytical skills
5. Technical orientation; Experience in SQL / R / Python / other programming language – a must
6. Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
7. Quick-thinker, fast learner, wide general knowledge, problem solver
