Manager, Crew Manning Operations
Based in the Philippines
Reports to: President
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Manager, Crew Manning Operations to lead and ensure the efficient day-to-day functioning of our manning office in the Philippines. This role plays a critical part in overseeing recruitment, deployment, compliance, and seafarer welfare, while also supporting business development efforts with third-party clients.

You will supervise multiple frontline departments, ensure compliance with maritime and labor standards (POEA, MARINA, DOLE), and act as Officer-in-Charge in the President’s absence. This is a key succession planning and leadership support role within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Management
  • Oversee daily crew manning activities including recruitment, documentation, and deployment.
  • Supervise departments handling crew sourcing, medicals, training, visa/travel arrangements, and pre-departure processes.
  • Assist in budget planning, financial reporting, and cost-effective operational management.
2. Regulatory Compliance
  • Ensure adherence to POEA, MARINA, MLC 2006, and STCW standards.
  • Maintain compliance calendars and oversee internal audits of documentation.
3. Seafarer Welfare
  • Monitor crew welfare, repatriation, and disputes in coordination with the legal team.
  • Ensure all pre-departure briefings and contracts are compliant and updated.
4. Team Leadership
  • Mentor junior managers and staff across operational departments.
  • Support training programs aligned with compliance and service standards.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
  • Liaise with ship owners, clients, and training/medical providers to ensure smooth deployment and communication.
  • Contribute to developing and growing 3rd party crew management services.
6. Corporate Support
  • Assist with compliance reports for SEC, BIR, DOLE, and LGUs.
  • Support procurement, budgeting, and vendor management activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Maritime, Business, HR, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in crew manning/maritime operations, with 2+ years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of POEA regulations, MLC, and STCW.
  • Financial literacy to support budgeting and procurement processes.
  • Filipino citizen, eligible to represent the company in regulatory affairs.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
