Qualifications

• Familiarity with managing complex resource allocation and cost optimisation initiatives.

Job description

What the role is:

You lead and oversee the organisation's FinOps (Cloud Financial Operations) initiatives, ensuring effective management and optimisation of cloud costs while enabling business agility and innovation, as well as aligning cloud spending with business objectives and driving financial accountability across teams.

What you will be working on:

- Implement cloud cost governance and optimisation practices by establishing cloud cost management policies, processes, and standards.
- Drive cloud financial accountability and reporting by developing and maintaining cloud cost models, budgets, and forecasting methodologies.
- Provide accurate and timely reports on cloud usage, costs, and billing to stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of FinOps and cloud cost awareness across users of SAF Cloud.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to enable cost transparency and accountability.
- Conduct training and awareness programs on FinOps best practices and cost optimisation strategies.
Challenges:
- Managing the complexity of cloud environments with diverse services, pricing models, and usage patterns across multiple cloud implementations by the SAF, ensuring accurate cost allocation and chargeback mechanisms.
- Balancing cost optimisation efforts with the need for agility, innovation, and business growth by aligning cloud spending with organisational priorities and enabling teams to leverage cloud capabilities cost-effectively.

What we are looking for:

- Education in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience.
