Overview: You will be a key member of the Business Development Team and will take on the role of a Category Manager to oversee the expansion of your Category. Your core responsibilities with be in Category Management to achieve various growth segments in the assigned categories. You will be heavily supported by the marketing and operations team to grow your category.
To excel in this role, you will need to have a deep passion in the category, strong industry contacts / networks, possess strong salesmanship and business acumen. You should be adept in managing multi-stakeholders and be comfortable in analytics and senior management engagement.
Responsibilities
As the Category Manager, you will devise the growth strategy and conduct competitive analysis of the business landscape to identify competition and growth opportunities. You will lead the translation of plans into execution, including leads cultivation, driving negotiation, and contracting of partnerships. Specifically, this includes:
1. P&L Responsibility
Responsible for P&L of the category under your care
Devise and implement the merchandising mix and onboarding strategy to achieve the sales, revenue, and category leadership performance in the trade
Responsible for Category Performance Analysis & Reporting
2. Merchant Acquisition
To lead the merchant acquisition efforts including prospecting, negotiating and development of necessary marketing tools
To be responsible for the merchant onboarding up to point of contracting and / or renewals, before handing over to the Operations Team for on-boarding ops and day-to-day support
3. Account Management
In charge of the accounts and sales targets of merchants under your care
Continually review the performance of your merchants, work with them to strategically conceive new business ideas to grow performance which may include range expansion, marketing or partnerships etc.
You shall continually maintain good relationship and provide value add to your partners to improve performance on the platform
4. Business Development
To work closely with the Business Head to develop new business ideas to improve performance
Drive the entire business pitch and implementation for new ideas such as business case analysis, seeking management buy-in, operationalization and budget / ROI management

Requirements:
Degree Holder with at least 5 years of relevant experience
Merchandising, eCommerce and / or marketplace experience is necessary
Strong industry networks and contacts in the relevant industry will be preferred
Good communication skills, both written and presentation
