Job summary

Straits Construction Singapore Pte Ltd seeks an experienced Architect to lead architectural works on our Singapore projects. You will coordinate with consultants, review shop drawings, MOS, and BIM models to ensure design compliance with schedule and budget.

You will manage subcontractors, prepare as-built drawings and O&M docs, and ensure safety and quality in construction. A degree in Architecture and 5–8 years' private residential project experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Architecture or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience, preferably in private residential projects.
• Able to lead and coordinate subcontractors to ensure smooth progress and quality.
• Independent, diligent and highly motivated with good team spirit.
• Knowledge of architectural specifications and BCA quality requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with knowledge of BIM.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with consultants and relevant authorities on architectural matters.
• Review shop drawings, material submissions, MOS, etc.
• Lead in VDC for architecture-related matters.
• Review contract documents and scope of works.
• Monitor and coordinate architectural site works to ensure schedule and budget.
• Establish the QC Plan in coordination with Quality and Service Department.
• Track and monitor material usage against quantities monthly.
• Review and coordinate drawings across disciplines including Civil & Structural and Building Services.
• Lead in tile and wall setting-out plans.
• Monitor variation orders and back charges.
• Cross-check BIM models against contract drawings.
• Lead subcontractor meetings and technical meetings for architecture-related matters.
• Prepare checklists for RI and TOP.
• Attend to architectural material submissions and shop drawing submissions, review comments from consultants.
• Assist in reviewing architectural vendor selections to comply with specifications.
• Prepare as-built drawings and O&M documentation.
• Coordinate handover to owners, Town Council, authorities, MA, etc.
• Assess subcontractors’ claims and progress claims.
• Ensure all work activities are carried out in a safe working environment.
• Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned.

• Monitor and coordinate overall architectural site works to ensure compliance with the project schedule and budget.

• Track and monitor actual material usage against computed quantities on a monthly basis.
• Review and coordinate drawings across various disciplines, including Civil & Structural and Building Services.
• Take the lead in tile and wall setting-out plans.

Job Requirements:

• Degree in Architecture or a related discipline.
• Minimum five (5) to eight (8) years of relevant experience, preferably in private residential projects.
• Able to lead and coordinate subcontractors to ensure smooth progress of works, high quality standards and minimal defects.
• Independent, diligent and highly motivated, with good team spirit.
• Good knowledge of architectural specifications and BCA quality requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with knowledge of BIM.
