Job description

My client is a Hospital located at the Central Region.

Job Responsibilities
Primary Duties and Responsibilities (80%)
  • Plan, implement, and upgrade project schedules; allocate resources efficiently; ensure timely execution of assigned tasks; and coordinate with system vendors and departmental end users.

  • Lead the submission of the annual IT work plan in collaboration with department leads and operations teams. Oversee the acquisition and implementation of IT systems and tools.

  • Manage IT planning and execution for allied health departments in the upcoming Integrated General Hospital (IGH) campus.

  • Serve as the Credentialed Trainer for EPIC modules, delivering onboarding and ongoing training to new department users.

  • Evaluate and process EPIC system change requests from users, performing build modifications to address user needs and resolve underlying issues.

  • Oversee and manage integrations between internal systems and external client platforms, ensuring compliance with security requirements and maintaining smooth data exchange and functionality.

  • Contribute to the strategic development of departmental IT systems, including cloud-based applications using Synapxe or private solutions, to enhance service delivery and long-term cost efficiency.

  • Upgrade existing IT infrastructure to meet evolving requirements. Collaborate closely with department stakeholders to automate workflows through IT solutions.

  • Take charge of:

    • Managing and maintaining departmental servers, workstations, and printers within the LAN environment.

    • Overseeing procurement and deployment of IT systems and accessories.

    • Preparing statistical reports on scheduled workloads.

    • Conducting both scheduled and ad hoc data extraction and compilation based on user needs.

    • Handling price updates, charge corrections, and audit-related activities.

    • Managing vendor contracts and maintaining regular follow-up with system providers and departments.

  • Review, update, and enforce IT Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in alignment with MOH, cluster, and Synapxe directives, including business continuity protocols during system downtimes.

  • Lead regular IT audits for the assigned allied health departments.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities (20%)
  • Propose and/or implement AI-driven solutions to streamline daily operations and support future campus readiness.

  • Monitor and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) related to cluster or institutional initiatives.

  • Participate in informatics-related projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency in allied health areas.

  • Contribute to cross-institutional efforts for harmonizing systems and processes across the cluster.

  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the reporting officer.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or healthcare-related field.

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent qualifications in healthcare informatics systems.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Prior experience with EPIC systems is highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, DICOM, HL7 standards, and LAN/WAN & internet connectivity.

  • Familiarity with budgeting and procurement workflows.

  • Good knowledge of information security protocols, network security, and firewall configurations.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities, with great attention to detail.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines.

  • Self-driven, quick learner, and adaptable to changing environments.

  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
