A prominent educational institution in Singapore is seeking a Manager for Advancement Services to ensure compliance with legal regulations in fundraising activities. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation and communication skills, with a background in law preferred. The NTU University Advancement Office (UAO) supports the University’s giving mission by fostering meaningful relationships and strategic partnerships with philanthropists, alumni, business community partners, corporations, foundations and friends that result in goodwill and philanthropy towards education and research.
The Manager, Advancement Services ensures proper gift closure, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for all fundraising activities at the University. It involves drafting and reviewing agreements, adherence to guidelines and policies and managing risks associated with fundraising initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Draft, review, and negotiate donor agreements and contracts.
Develop and update fundraising policies.
Provide training on legal compliance and ethical fundraising practices.
Assess and mitigate legal risks related to fundraising efforts.
Facilitate communication between legal, fundraising, and administrative teams.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, with a minor in law preferred.
At least 6 – 7 years of working experience. Candidates with direct experience in dealing with legal contracts, or policies and compliance matters would be preferred.
Knowledge of the nonprofit sector and/or fundraising would be highly advantageous.
Strong understanding of relevant regulations and guidelines.
