Job Description:

As part of Depuy Synthes Separation, there is a call-to-action for Transformation to simplify and streamline MedTech Supply Chain to ensure competitive advantage for our customers and patients.

With DePuy Synthes separation, MTSC Transformation Warehosusing & Transportation pillar is charted to redesign and shape the future-state supply chain Warehousing & Transportation for Johnson & Johnson MedTech. This includes oversight of consolidation and rationalization actions for distribution network worldwide, a strategic shift toward an asset-light model, and the build-out of new, future-looking logistics capabilities including partner management, network design, systems strategy, and defining the transition standards required to sustain performance in the future state.

The team operates centrally, with close partnership with regional Transformation and Deliver Operations across EMEA, APAC, LATAM and North America.

Manager, 3PL Partner Excellence, Asia Pacific sits within MTSC Transformation, is responsible for deploying harmonized and best-in-class 3PL partner management framework, standards and capabilities; process, tools, governance and change management; leading orchestration and execution of operational processes related to 3PL partner management across the APAC 3PL distribution network.

Asia Pacific operates 20+ distribution centers through a diverse set of third-part logistics partners and contracts. As the region move to an asset-light network – DC consolidation and network simplification – the need to elevate capability, performance and quality on how APAC defines, contracts and engages 3PL partners, ensuring strong value creation, creating competitive advantage – enabling profitable growth, cash and cost effectiveness and reliable service performance.

The position is responsible for partnering with global Transformation Warehousing & Transportation to shape partner management framework and standards, deploying across APAC region a harmonized partner management processes, governance activities, and operational controls with Deliver Operations, 3PL partners and procurement; ensuring alignment with defined standards, service expectations, and transformation objectives are met.

This includes shaping and defining Fit-for-Purpose segmentation framework with all functions including risk and criticality, differentiated engagement plans and robust account management.

As part of operationalizing the contracts, this role is expected to deploy standards and oversee APAC Deliver Operations in ensuring contract adherence, efficient KPI management, effective joint CIP program and execution, robust business development tied to operations performance, and establishing capabilities for DC / supplier transitions.

This role influences without direct authority and depends on clear boundaries with adjacent teams – Procurement, Deliver Operations.

Success depends on making these partners more effective whilst ensuring accountabilities across the respective teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Engagement Model and Segmentation Ownership

• Partner with global to shape Fit-for-Purpose segmentation and engagement plan
• Responsible for APAC Fit-for-Purpose account plan creation and governance
• Deploy global operational playbooks for critical processes, ensure process adherence across partner lifecycle
• Establish and maintain partner management standards in APAC
• Drive preparatory for key partner engagement whilst onboarding APAC Deliver Operations and functional owners
• Ensures APAC region and markets adhere to centrally set standards, governance and segmentation

Source to Contract Excellence

• Partner with Global Transformation W&T and Procurement to define contracting standards, policies and guardrails
• Partner with procurement, ensuing global contracting standards are deployed in each logistics contract in APAC that gets updated or initiated through transitions

Partner Performance Management – Capability Development and Functional Analytics

• Build foundations and financial architecture to enable key capabilities
• Establish requirements to track and report on operational and financial performance aligned with contractual commitments, governs Deliver Operations to operationalize
• Train Deliver Operations DRIs on new capabilities and requirements
• Partner with Global / Performance Mgmt to establish and maintain centralized performance portal / workflow tools to ensure consistent regional execution
• Partner with global to conduct benchmarking and other Cost Gap Modelling related analytics and leverage output for continuous improvement with APAC region and markets

Operationalizing the Contract through Governance and Execution

• Ensures Deliver Operations day-to-day partner engagement as per standards – RACI, budget and CPO controls, escalation process, contract management auditing
• Partner with Deliver Operations to establish and maintain regional reporting cadences as per enterprise mechanism and provide input to enterprise-level governance
• Implement new capabilities and resulting KPIs
• Update global central team on adherence on enterprise standards
• Establish business development tied to operation performance

QUALIFICATION

Minimum Required Experience

• Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, operations, or partner/vendor coordination roles.
• Experience in warehouse, transportation, 3PL-managed logistics or contract manufacturing environment
• Experienced in deploying programs, operational processes, governance, activities in cross-functional environments
• Strong organizational and coordination skills, with ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously
• Must have regional experience in managing multiple markets operations / suppliers / providers
• Strong governance, stakeholder management, and executive communication capabilities
• Experience maintaining process documentation, trackers, reporting files, or governance materials
• Strong attention to detail and ability to support structured execution of operational processes
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify process gaps and support improvement initiatives
• Problem solving mentality and “can do” attitude. Able to analyze multiple data sources in high pressure environments to give prompt recommendations & solutions
• Strong communication skills, ability to articulate and simplify situation and issues with clear actions to all stakeholders to instill trust and confidence
• Demonstrated ability to thrive and drive execution in highly matrixed environments, effective in working in a “pod” environment

Preferred Experience

• MBA advantageous
• MedTech, hi-tech, pharma, FMCG or complex regulated and/or fast-paced industry experience
• Exposure to 3PL or contract manufacturing transformation or other supply chain transformation initiatives
• Experience in value realization, transformation governance, or operational strategy
• Track record in translating operations improvement to delivering financials P&L is advantageous
• Experience in implementing AI, digital capabilities
• Lean Six Sigma, ADKAR certification is desirable
