RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
· Lead the staff team in fulfilling the Centre’s goals and funders’ (AIC/MOH) Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
· Work together with MWS Group Director of Healthcare Services, Head of Active Ageing Centres (AAC) and AAC Central Governance Committee to set directions that are aligned to MWS
· Make sound decisions on behalf of the Management
· Mentor new Assistant Managers or Managers to help them succeed and grow
People and Team Management
· Recruit, select, train, develop, supervise, mentor and motivate the staff team
· Identify and allocate the appropriate manpower (both staff and volunteers) to the services and needs of the AAC
· Develop a cohesive staff team by having regular 1 to 1 and group supervision with staff
· Manage any conflict amongst staff that may arise and work to unite the staff team
· Guide and support mentee in people management
· Ensure that staff are trained and developing professionally
Volunteer Management and Development
· Work with community stakeholders, in particular the partner church representative to coordinate volunteering efforts
· Together with other Centre Managers, develop a process of volunteer screening, volunteer development and sustainability
Service Planning, Implementation and Evaluation
· Plan, implement and evaluate active ageing programmes, befriending service and community outreach work that focus on building individual elderly’s self-help capacity and communities that support ageing in place
· Develop standard operating procedures for needs assessment, community outreach and appropriate interventions at the Centre level, including escalation protocols, service linkage and follow-up
· Evaluate service and programme outcomes and recommend areas of improvement
Strategic Local Partnerships
· Manage relationship with partner churches, service providers and grassroots organizations in the centre catchment area
· Attend local networking meetings and build rapport with stakeholders
· Active promotion of collaborative relationship
· Establish working level processes.
· Guide mentee in strategic local partnership and public relation skills
Administration
· Work with the Head of AAC to implement administrative processes and ensure compliance to Finance and Human Resource Policies
· Preparation and submission of data to MOH, AIC and other funders
· Ensure proper input of data into the internal electronic records system as well as the management of data and reporting to AIC
· Manage IT software and hardware of the Centre with support from Centre staff and MWS IT Department
· Ensure the compliance of policies and processes as set by MWS and any financial, HR and data protection protocols
· Manage the finances of the Centre and funds given to the Centre, e.g. Community Silver Trust Fund, Chen Su Lan Fund, etc. and ensure responsible and prudent use of resources
· Guide mentee in the administration of the Centre
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Master or Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare, Social Sciences or related field preferred
· Minimum 5 to 8 years of management experience in an elder care facility
· Counselling background involving the elderly will be good to have
· Leadership qualities demonstrated in past achievements and/or previous work experiences
· Excellent verbal, written communication as well as people management skills
· Must be people-oriented and love elderly
· Able to do effective presentations and possess good facilitation skills
· Speak Mandarin and some Chinese dialects; ability to speak other local languages (Malay and/or Tamil) are added advantages
· Ability to conduct community asset mapping and environmental scanning
· Knowledge of community resources
· Ability to engage stakeholders and partners with good public relations skills
· Possess cultural understanding and social sensitivity
· Good team player and leader
