You will join our Mechanical Design team to develop state-of-the-art machines that meet customer needs. Responsibilities and Duties
- Lead the mechanical design team.
- Develop a deep understanding of design specifications based on customer requirements, organizational goals, and business strategies. Conceptualize and develop solutions based on project requirements and company standards using simulations and modeling to support design concepts.
- Create and update design specification sheets and distribute them to relevant parties.
- Conduct detailed cycle time studies for individual modules to select appropriate machine or module designs. Develop 3D models of machines and modules with optimized designs for manufacturing, cost, quality, and safety.
- Initiate and conduct internal design reviews to share and explain completed modules with other departments.
- Organize and participate in design reviews with customers according to project schedules.
- Revise designs and documents based on internal and external reviews.
- Create flowcharts for modules or entire machines.
- Produce part and assembly drawings based on approved designs and obtain departmental approval.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOM) for assigned modules based on the design schedule.
- Create drawing release files and distribute drawings for quotations.
- Send out standard part lists for quotations based on BOM.
- Receive quotations, compare prices, and prepare comparison spreadsheets.
- Raise Purchase Requests (PR), obtain managerial approval, and coordinate with the Purchasing department for negotiations and orders.
- Support fabrication and assembly stages by addressing design issues promptly.
- Make necessary modifications, update designs and drawings, and secure approval from the department manager.
- Release revised drawings to suppliers and internal assembly teams.
- Assist machine assembly teams with setup and fine-tuning as needed.
- Ensure all activities are completed according to project schedules.
- Maintain quality standards while staying updated on relevant technologies and best practices, and adhere to company policies and safety standards.
- Develop, train, and mentor junior engineers, guide technical directions, and serve as a technical liaison with customers.
