Job description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To manage and coordinate procurement activities to ensure timely acquisition of goods and services at competitive prices, in compliance with company policies and quality standards.

Support supervisor in the following activities:

  • Coordinate and manage procurement of terminal-related services (e.g., stevedoring, terminal handling, depot services, storage) at global or regional ports.
  • Support the preparation, review, and execution of Terminal Service Agreements (TSAs), depot contracts, and service-level agreements.
  • Analyze terminal tariff changes and assess their cost impact on operations; propose cost recovery measures where applicable.
  • Update and maintain terminal and depot tariffs in the shipping system (e.g., Allegro), ensuring data accuracy and timely implementation.
  • Support in preparing the monthly rebate tracking, volume monitoring, and management reports for internal review.
  • Monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service levels.
  • Collaborate with trade, operations, legal and finance teams to align procurement strategies with operational needs and cost targets.
  • Maintain proper records of vendor contracts, tariffs schedules, and agreements for reference and compliance purposes.
  • Participate in vendor tendering, benchmarking exercises, and contract renewals.
  • Ensure adherence to internal procurement policies, SOPs, and audit requirements.
  • Assist in resolving billing discrepancies and conducting cost and volume impact analysis related to terminal and depot services.
  • Perform other duties and ad hoc tasks as assigned.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of experience in procurement, preferably in shipping, logistics, or the terminal operation industry.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality of work; strategic minded with strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; capable of preparing cost comparisons, impact assessments, and management reports.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across departments and external vendors.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Possesses strong analytical skills, is meticulous, and upholds a high level of integrity.
  • Effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin, as the role requires frequent communication with both English- and Chinese-speaking stakeholders (verbal and written).
  • Possesses a valid right to work in Singapore.
