Job Purpose
The Management Trainee is responsible for learning and assisting in daily restaurant operations, with the aim to develop into a future leader or manager. The role provides hands-on training across both front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) functions, specifically tailored to the operations of a Japanese Tonkatsu restaurant.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operations Training (FOH & BOH)
- Learn and assist with restaurant opening and closing procedures.
- Support kitchen operations, including basic food preparation and maintaining hygiene standards.
- Assist service team in greeting customers, taking orders, and managing the POS system.
- Maintain high standards of Japanese service etiquette and guest satisfaction.
2. Product Knowledge
- Gain thorough understanding of Japanese Tonkatsu cuisine, menu items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
- Learn about food quality, presentation, and handling practices.
3. People Management
- Work closely with supervisors and team leaders to understand staff scheduling, motivation, and task delegation.
- Assist in supervising part-timers and junior staff as part of leadership training.
4. Customer Service & Complaint Handling
- Handle customer feedback and complaints under guidance from senior staff.
- Develop problem-solving and communication skills to maintain a positive dining experience.
5. Compliance & Safety
- Comply with Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and NEA hygiene standards and attend food hygiene training.
- Learn and adhere to Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) regulations.
6. Reporting & Administration
- Assist with inventory, ordering, and stock-taking processes.
- Learn how to prepare shift reports and basic cost control tracking.
- Participate in meetings and provide feedback on operations.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Hospitality, F&B Management, Business, or related field.
- Fresh graduates or up to 1 years’ working experience in F&B or customer service are welcome.
- Strong interest in Japanese cuisine and restaurant management.
