Job summary

Lonza Singapore is seeking a hands-on Cell Culture Development scientist to advance cell line and upstream processes for technology transfer to cGMP manufacturing. Based at Tuas, you will perform laboratory-scale development and contribute to validation activities.

You will work in a dynamic team, analyze data, interpret results, and communicate findings clearly to project teams, ensuring timely delivery and high quality results.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in a relevant Science field or equivalent.
• Practical laboratory experience in cell culture and laboratory-scale bioreactor runs.
• Experience with culture conditions for mammalian suspension cells is beneficial.
• Understanding of recombinant protein expression using mammalian cell culture systems.
• Familiarity with cGMP regulations.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical and teamwork skills.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work weekends on a rota-based system.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on laboratory work in cell line and upstream process development.
• Contribute to process development for technology transfer to cGMP manufacturing teams.
• Develop understanding of facility constraints and their impact on development.
• Support process validation/characterisation studies by lab work.
• Interpret analytical data to define next steps.
• Collaborate with site and global project teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Communicate results clearly through reports and meetings.
• Work with mammalian cell culture processes including ambr15, 10L bioreactors.
