Job description

Key Responsibilities

The NARS Makeup Artist reports into the Store Manager and Sales Executive and is responsible for providing the brand’s highest standard of service to customers at his/her assigned retail outlet and driving sales and profits within the brand. He/she will also work closely with the Store Manager to ensure smooth daily operations.

Main Functions
  1. Ensures smooth day-to-day counter/boutique business operations.
  2. Works closely with retail team members to achieve sales targets monthly.
  3. Exudes proper and professional conduct at the counter.
  4. Ensures proper daily grooming (makeup and dressing) based on brand’s requirement.
Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Operations & Achieving Sales Targets
  1. Ensures timely reporting for daily store operations.
  2. Attends counter briefings from Store Manager to get updates on brand, marketing and education communications.
  3. Be aware of sales targets and goals to achieve in the briefing sessions.
  4. Monitors personal monthly sales productivity KPIs – AUS/IPT.
  5. Maintains a cohesive and cooperative work environment to work towards achieving brand sales target and business growth.
  6. Performs cashiering duties at counters/FSS in a professional manner and with the highest respect to customers. Highest level of accuracy and integrity are required.
  7. FSS Makeup Artist: Follows SOP for team members on the proper management of opening cash float, and daily cash collection and consolidation for banking monthly, as well as proper documentation of card charge slips for submission to Finance Department. Reports any discrepancies in daily sales tally to Store Manager and Sales Executive.
Stocks/Inventory Management
  1. Performs monthly inventory counts designated by the Store Manager, managing stock-in/receiving for stock freshness and reports to Store Manager any discrepancies and highlights any aging stocks.
  2. Practices FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out), i.e., oldest batch of stocks to be sold first, thus proper management of stock arrangement is required of team members.
  3. Maintains OOS list and follows up on stock orders with Store Manager and updates Store Manager on high-demand SKUs, based on current market trends.
Counter/Store Maintenance
  1. Conducts daily checks on counter/boutique merchandising units and product displays to ensure adherence to Brand’s merchandising guidelines and updates Store Manager for discrepancies.
  2. Ensures store cleanliness and hygiene through daily housekeeping and post-Covid hygiene SOP on testers are well-managed.
  3. Reports to contractor/maintenance team on any malfunction to store/counter’s electricity or fixtures, and updates the Store Manager.
  4. Forecasts and replenishes counter hygiene supplies regularly through the Store Manager.
Service Excellence & CRM
  1. Provides an excellent shopping experience for customers at the counter/boutique and ensures retail team upholds high-level customer service standards.
  2. Handles and manages customer complaints.
  3. Recruits new customers as well as builds good relations with current customers.
  4. Is aware of the brand’s CRM initiatives and customer-data collection, strictly adhering to the PDPA guidelines.
Others:
  1. Assists the Store Manager and Brand Team for brand, consumer or sale events.
  2. Inspires customers with expertise on beauty trends and product knowledge and determines customer needs to assist in finding appropriate NARS products.
  3. Senior & Lead Artists: May be assigned to work at Brand’s or Company’s external events, not limited to media presentations, livestreams, on-stage demonstrations for event/consumer workshops, etc.
  4. Adheres strictly to Shiseido Code of Conduct and Ethics (CoCE).
Job Qualifications:
  1. Express a strong passion to work in the beauty and cosmetics industry.
  2. Minimum GCE ‘N’ Level or equivalent, and equipped with 3 years of retail experience in a similar industry preferred.
  3. Possesses a certificate in Makeup Artistry.
  4. Computer literacy, especially in Office 365 Suite (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Teams).
  5. Is reliable, dependable, and punctual.
  6. Has a high standard of attention to detail and shows strong initiative in given tasks.
  7. Demonstrates ability to work in a team, multi-task, and manage stress in a fast-paced team environment.
  8. Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and/or public holidays (dependent on counter staffing needs).
  9. Is savvy in digital social media such as Instagram, TikTok, etc.
