Job summary

A leading company in the mechanical maintenance sector seeks a qualified technician to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment such as pumps and compressors. The role requires technical expertise in mechanical systems and adherence to safety compliance. Interested candidates should possess relevant qualifications and experience in the chemical, petrochemical, or oil & gas industries, and be ready to work in Jurong Island.

Qualifications

  • Min. 3-5 years in mechanical maintenance within chemical, petrochemical, or oil & gas industries.
  • Certifications in Safety Orientation Course (SOC), Forklift, MEWP, and Rigging certifications are an advantage.

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform root cause analysis.

Job description

Jobscope:

  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, valves, and gearboxes.
  • Perform precision alignment, balancing, and overhauls in accordance with OEM standards.
  • Use diagnostic tools (e.g., vibration analyzers, ultrasonic detectors) to identify mechanical faults.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing repairs.
  • Support installation, retrofitting, and commissioning of mechanical systems, including during shutdowns and turnarounds.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs to guide maintenance and installation work.
  • Ensure safety compliance by following EHS procedures (e.g., PTW, LOTO, CSE), maintaining records in CMMS, and participating in safety meetings

Requirements:

  • Min. NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Certifications in Safety Orientation Course (SOC), Forklift, MEWP, and Rigging certifications is an advantage
  • Min. 3–5 years in mechanical maintenance within chemical, petrochemical, or oil & gas industries, preferably on Jurong Island.
  • Proficient in rotating equipment maintenance, piping systems, mechanical alignment, torquing, and flange management.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, understand mechanical schematics, and apply API/ASME standards and basic condition monitoring
  • Willing to work in Jurong Island
