Job summary

BYD (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician for EV Charging Operations.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues and support aftersales on Mega Chargers and related equipment. This role involves on-site service, on-call support, fault diagnosis, parts replacement, testing and site handover for new chargers, with emphasis on safety and compliance within BYD/OEM procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and routine inspections of Mega Chargers and associated equipment.
• Attend charger breakdowns and customer technical service calls within the assigned SLA/on-call arrangement.
• Perform first-level diagnosis and troubleshooting of charging guns/connectors, power modules, controls, displays and communications equipment.
• Replace approved components and spare parts in accordance with BYD/OEM procedures.
• Perform post-repair functional and charging tests before returning equipment to service.
• Support inspection and maintenance of associated electrical equipment within the technician’s authorised scope.
• Support ESS/BESS inspection and maintenance only in accordance with approved procedures and authorised work scope.
• Support new charger installation, testing, commissioning and site handover.
• Record fault codes, repair actions, parts used, photographs, test results and job completion status.
• Provide technical aftersales support to customers, fleet users and site personnel when required.
• Identify recurring faults and report them to the Head, Operations & Maintenance for engineering escalation.
• Escalate work requiring licensed electrical or specialist authorisation to the appropriate authorised personnel.
• Participate in standby/emergency response arrangements as required.

About the Role

The Maintenance Technician, EV Charging Operation performs hands-on preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, troubleshooting and technical aftersales support. Technicians are the field execution arm of Operations and do not own regulatory, commercial or engineering policy decisions.
