Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

Project Phase:

· Assist E&I Engineers in verifying on-site electrical and instrumentation installation activities for compliance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and applicable standards.

· Conduct field inspections to ensure proper installation, wiring, and termination of electrical panels, instruments, cables, and control systems.

· Perform /witness and support loop checks, insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, and instrument calibrations as performed.

· Identify and report deviations, non-conformities, or potential issues to the engineering team for resolution

· Maintain detailed records of field verification activities, test results, and punch list items.

· Monitor work progress against project schedules and report any delays or resource issues observed in the field.

· Assist in the collection and entry of technical data for maintenance plans, asset records, and operational documentation.

· Support the setup of PM (Preventive Maintenance) templates and maintenance plans where required.

Operation Phase:

· Assist in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for E&I systems under engineer supervision.

· Support in functional testing of field instruments, control panels, MCCs, and electrical equipment.

· Record test data and report any deviations from expected results.

· Perform regular preventive maintenance on electrical systems, instruments, and control systems (e.g., motors, switchgear, control panels, PLCs, transmitters).

· Carry out scheduled calibration and testing of field instruments such as pressure, temperature, level, and flow sensors.

· Diagnose faults in E&I systems and perform corrective maintenance to restore functionality, escalating complex issues as needed.

· Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergencies, ensuring minimal downtime and safety compliance

· Utilize the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to Update job records, maintenance history, calibration certificates, work orders, track equipment history, and generate reports.

· Support the development and refinement of preventive maintenance SOPs and tasks to effectively manage plant equipment and facilities.

· Participate in and complete all required training programs to build necessary technical competencies.

· Carry out Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures in line with maintenance and safety requirements.

· Inspect and verify the quality and condition of received spare parts and maintenance tools.

· Able to work on rotational shifts as required to support 24/7 plant operations.

· Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or plant management to support maintenance and operational continuity.

· Uphold a safe working environment by adhering to WuXi Biologics’ safety policies, plant-specific safe work procedures, and local government regulations.

Requirements:

· Diploma/Higher Nitec in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Instrumentation/ Chemical / Environmental Engineering or equivalent

· Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) (advantage)

· Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in performing duties equivalent to Maintenance Technician

· Hands-on experience in Electrical and Instrumentation systems, with strong technical exposure to commissioning, calibration, and maintenance activities.

· GMP-compliant biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations (Advantage)

· Experience in greenfield projects setup (advantage)

· Familiarity with and prior hands-on experience with CMMS systems like Maximo or SAP.

· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites (PowerPoint, Word, and Excel). Experience with planning tools such as Microsoft Project will be an advantage.

· Ability to use AutoCAD for drafting.

· Must have ability to learn and work effectively with the plant's Distributed Control System (DCS), with the ability to interpret the P&I diagram and process flow diagram.

· Experience in system walkdown, inspection, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of process mechanical and control equipment.

· Proficiency in written English, oral communication, and interpersonal abilities.

· Ability to be an independent problem solver.
