Company description:

Singapore LNG Corporation Pte Ltd (SLNG) was incorporated by the Energy Market Authority of Singapore in June 2009 to build, own, and operate Singapore's first open-access, multi-user LNG Terminal. This key national infrastructure supports Singapore's energy diversification strategy and economic development in the energy sector.

With over 95% of Singapore's electricity generated using natural gas, the SLNG Terminal enhances energy security by enabling natural gas imports from around the world. It also facilitates the development of new LNG-related businesses, contributing to the growth of Singapore's energy industry and creating new jobs.

Roles and Responsibilities

The incumbent shall be responsible for tasks including but not limited to:

  • Ensuring compliance with SLNG safety procedures, local and international electrical codes and standards.
  • Supervising and leading a team of electrical technicians and contractors in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Developing and conducting relevant structured on-the-job training for E&I team members.
  • Conducting site work inspections and quality control checks on electrical works.
  • Reviewing and approving electrical isolation permits, excavation permits, and other permits related to electrical and instrumentation work.
  • Leading investigations into electrical maintenance incidents to identify root causes and implement solutions.
  • Collaborating with SLNG electrical engineers to develop and implement maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and resolve issues.
  • Conducting morning toolbox meetings focusing on safety and efficient maintenance execution.
  • Participating in emergency response procedures and assuming specific roles as assigned.
Requirements
  • Engineering Degree or Diploma, preferably in Electrical, Electronic, Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years (or 15 years for diploma holders) of experience in an oil and gas or petrochemical E&I maintenance supervisory role.
  • Expertise in low and medium voltage electrical systems, power transmission, network communication equipment, motors, CCTV, security systems, earthing, lightning protection, and PLC systems is mandatory. Knowledge of DCS is an advantage.
