A leading staffing agency in Singapore seeks a Head of Maintenance. This role involves overseeing all maintenance functions to ensure reliable plant operations, leading teams, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Engineering, 10+ years in Energy or Utilities, with strong leadership skills.
Reporting to the Deputy Head of the Plant, this role serves as the Head of Maintenance, overseeing all maintenance functions to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations. The incumbent will lead multidisciplinary teams and uphold compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
1. Leadership & Team Management
Lead and supervise mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
Develop and enforce maintenance schedules to minimize downtime.
Provide strategic direction for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
2. Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with internal safety protocols and regulatory standards.
Lead investigations of incidents or near-misses and implement corrective actions.
Monitor environmental impact and conduct regular safety and risk assessments.
Develop and conduct emergency response training in coordination with HSSE.
3. Operational Maintenance Oversight
Oversee maintenance of core systems: waste handling, combustion, flue gas treatment, ash handling, etc.
Perform regular inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs to maintain peak equipment performance.
Implement proactive maintenance strategies to reduce breakdowns and increase reliability.
4. Regulatory Compliance
Ensure full adherence to statutory health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Stay informed on evolving legal and compliance standards.
Liaise with regulatory bodies for inspections, audits, and documentation.
5. Budget & Cost Management
Prepare and manage the department’s maintenance budget effectively.
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or performance.
6. Training & Development
Ensure all maintenance staff are trained in safe practices and equipment handling.
Promote continuous learning and development to stay current with technological and regulatory changes.
7. Reporting & Documentation
Maintain comprehensive records of maintenance schedules, breakdowns, repairs, and equipment performance.
Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and regulatory authorities.
8. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate with operations, technical, HSSE, and support functions for process optimization.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors to ensure availability of parts and services.
Manage procurement and inventory to ensure uninterrupted operations in line with company policies.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the Energy or Utilities sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within maintenance.
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
