Qualifications

Job description

Mainframe Consultant (Performance and Capacity Management)

The ideal candidate for the Mainframe Performance and Capacity Management role should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in this field. You will be responsible for the complete reporting lifecycle, including generating reports using tools like TDS & SAS-MXG. Your role will involve system monitoring, conducting health-checks using tools such as RMF, Omegamon, and SDSF. You will be expected to identify any abnormalities in the system such as high consumers, looping jobs, or looping transactions.

In this position, you will be required to create Monthly and Quarterly PCM reports and present them to the client. You should also be capable of making code changes to automated jobs and have experience in Capacity planning for LPAR decommission. Analyzing system trends, workload, service class reports, and identifying root causes will be part of your regular tasks.

As the Mainframe Performance and Capacity Management specialist, you will need to perform WLM changes based on changing workload behavior and demand to ensure optimal system performance. Your role will include taking proactive measures to prevent recurring performance issues and supporting DR activities by conducting PCM checkouts of the system performances. Additionally, you will provide support during Major Projects and Datacenter Migration Projects.
