Job summary

AMRO is seeking a Research Analyst to join its Regional Surveillance Group in Singapore. You will work with economists on ASEAN+3 regional macroeconomic outlooks, risk assessments, and policy analysis, contributing to AREO and related surveillance outputs.

You will handle data analysis, database management, and preparation of analytical outputs, gaining exposure to macroeconomic and financial issues across the ASEAN+3 region and collaborating in a diverse international environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, international finance, public policy, statistics or related fields; a postgraduate degree would be an advantage.
• Strong background in macroeconomics and econometrics, with proven experience in economic research, database and content management.
• Familiarity with economic/financial databases (Bloomberg, CEIC, Haver Analytics, Refinitiv) and econometric packages (EViews, MATLAB, Stata).
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; Python and R are an advantage; willingness to learn new tools; familiarity with AI tools is a plus.
• Strong written and spoken English; ability to collaborate in a multicultural environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the production of analytics and research underpinning AMRO’s regional surveillance work.
• Maintain and update key macroeconomic databases and develop new ones under supervision.
• Maintain and enhance electronic templates, automated dashboards, and other analytical resources.
• Assist in preparing presentation materials and outputs to support the Group’s analytical work.
• Compile routine macroeconomic updates in coordination with economists and communicate to Group Head and broader groups.
• Participate in research projects and draft targeted notes on issues relevant to the Group’s work program.
• Contribute to broader institutional and operational initiatives in support of AMRO’s mandate.
