A leading company in marine and offshore services is seeking a machinist to perform machining tasks and support fabrication efforts. The candidate will set up and operate machines, inspect completed parts, and ensure metrology standards are maintained. This role requires relevant experience, particularly with lathe machines and specialized tools, and offers a dynamic work environment in Singapore.
Select, set up, inspect, and adjust appropriate tools, machines, and materials (basic and specialized machining tools).
Align and secure holding fixtures, accessories, and drilling tools onto machines.
Measure and calculate dimensions and tolerances; confirm specifications with supervisor or engineers.
Perform machining tasks as instructed (Machining/Welding/Drilling/Bench Fitting).
Set controls and monitor machine feed and speed during operation.
Ensure workpieces are lubricated and cooled properly; position and fasten as needed.
Observe machines during operation to identify malfunctions and assess repair needs.
Maintain tools and equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and removing debris.
Inspect completed parts for defects and verify conformance to specifications.
Collaborate with supervisors to ensure machining accuracy.
Support additional fabrication work and propose improvements to machining processes.
Basic literacy or ITE qualification preferred; relevant work experience will be considered.
Experience in operating specialized machining tools and troubleshooting.
Minimum 1 year of experience with lathe machines.
Ability to operate hydrotesting bench for pressure testing.
Strong understanding of machine specifications and precise measurements.
Good judgment and accuracy in measuring.
Basic knowledge of machining methods and mechanics.
