Job summary

VECTOR SKY DEFENSE PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a skilled machinist to set up jigs, fixtures, and tooling, and operate CNC Lathe, VTL, and milling machines.

You will inspect parts with precision gauges and interpret detailed engineering data to maintain quality and productivity. The role requires a NITEC or technical certificate and 3–5 years in precision engineering, with strong GD&T skills and English communication.

Qualifications

• NITEC or Technical Certificate in Mechanical or Precision Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of machining experience in Precision Engineering, Metal, or Aerospace environments.
• Ability to operate manual and CNC Lathe, VTL, and Milling machines.

Responsibilities

• Set up jigs, fixtures, and tooling to prepare machines for precise machining operations
• Operate manual and CNC Lathe, Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL), and milling machines to produce components according to specifications
• Perform in-process inspections on machined parts using precision gauges and micrometers to ensure dimensional accuracy
• Interpret and comply with engine manuals, technical data, and work instructions for all machining tasks
• Initiate and suggest continuous improvement ideas to enhance process efficiency, productivity, and quality
• Perform Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities to maintain machine reliability
• Maintain clean and organized machines and work areas following good housekeeping practices
• Adhere to safety rules and regulations throughout all duties to ensure a safe working environment
• Perform sheet metal work as required to support machining operations
• Carry out other related duties as assigned to support team objectives

• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
• Skilled in using standard measuring instruments for quality inspection
• Proficient in spoken and written English for effective communication
