Job summary

Frencken Group's Frencken Mechatronics division in Singapore is seeking a skilled machine operator to join our precision manufacturing team. You will operate CNC and conventional milling, turning, or drilling equipment, load materials, set basic parameters, and perform tool changes in a temperature controlled environment.

This role emphasizes strict quality control, with in-process inspections, interpretation of engineering drawings, and adherence to safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience operating precision machinery.
  • Familiar with engineering drawings and GD&T fundamentals.
  • Proficient with calipers, micrometers, gauges.
  • Strong safety and quality focus.
  • Willingness to work in a temperature controlled environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC or conventional milling, turning, or drilling equipment.
  • Load raw materials, set basic machine parameters, and perform tool changes.
  • Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measurement tools.
  • Interpret drawings and follow process sheets.
  • Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities.
  • Maintain production records.
  • Follow safety protocols and PPE usage.
  • Coordinate with engineers and technicians to resolve issues.
  • Support 5S, lean manufacturing activities.

Job description

Who are we?

Frencken Mechatronics is involved in the development and assembly of industrial systems or the semiconductor industry, the healthcare market, and a wide range of analytical applications. The high-quality precision mechanical parts, machine assemblies, and vacuum systems are assembled in both clean room and non-clean room environments. As a service provider, Frencken Mechatronics also produces high-quality precision components and modules for leading clients in the high-tech industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CNC or conventional machines such as milling, turning, or drilling equipment.
  • Load raw materials, set basic machine parameters, and perform required tool changes.
  • Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other measurement tools.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and follow process sheets and work instructions.
  • Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities, tool wear, or dimensional deviations.
  • Maintain accurate production records including quantities produced, scrap, and machine downtime.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including PPE usage, housekeeping, and compliance with machine guarding requirements.
  • Conduct routine cleaning and basic preventive maintenance on machines.
  • Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, and technicians to resolve production issues.
  • Support 5S, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing activities.
Qualifications
  • Secondary school education, NITEC, Higher NITEC, or relevant technical certificate.
  • 1–3 years of experience operating machinery in a precision manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Basic understanding of CNC milling or turning operations.
  • Familiarity with engineering drawings and GD&T fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in using basic metrology tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Good mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to handle small and large components.
  • Strong commitment to safety and product quality.
