Job Scope of a Machine Technician
1. Installation
• Set up and install machinery or mechanical systems.
• Assemble parts and components based on technical drawings or manuals.
• Test newly installed equipment to ensure proper function.
2. Maintenance
• Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines.
• Inspect mechanical systems for wear and tear, leaks, or damage.
• Lubricate, clean, and calibrate machines to ensure optimal performance.
3. Troubleshooting and Repair
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and minor electrical issues.
• Replace or repair faulty components like motors, bearings, belts, and gears.
• Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and schematics to identify problems.
4. Documentation and Reporting
• Keep records of maintenance, repairs, and machine performance.
• Report major issues to supervisors or engineers.
• Follow standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
5. Communication and Coordination
• Provide feedback for improvements in machine design or maintenance procedures.
